The tracks I create are a reflection of my mood; I consider myself an artist first, before a music producer or engineer. When I craft a track, I think about what my audience would enjoy and envision them dancing to my music. It's crucial to create music that resonates with listeners and is suitable for radio play. Being an artist in NYC is challenging. As you read my bio, you'll understand the dedication and hard work I've put into my craft.
Today's music industry favors self-made artists, as the industry no longer invests heavily in promotions or videos. Therefore, passion must shine through the music, engaging followers as you continue to grind. Some artists succeed by balancing fun with the pursuit of profit, but this approach can be short-lived. Many lack the patience or treat music as merely a hobby. I respect all hustles, but those who understand the music industry would agree.
I want record labels, executives, and my followers to understand that music is both my passion and my job, although I don't really consider it a job—it's just what I do. Music flows in my blood, coming from my dad, a well-known Haitian artist who played in Ibo Combo, Caribbean Sextet and a few appearances in major bands like Tropicana, Tabou Combo. As an artist, having a great ear for music is crucial. My music is created from real-life experiences; none of it is fabricated. Despite being born into privilege, losing both my parents forced me to face drastic changes, which is evident in my music. My life has been far from ordinary; it's about overcoming life's challenges and the tests that God has put before me. I didn't excel in all of them, but I weathered the storms and am still standing.
The first artist who inspired me was Rakim, a true lyricist of Hip Hop. I also admire KRS One, Nas, among others. These artists influence the type of music I create. While music has evolved, I believe that if NYC artists unite and collaborate, it would strengthen the music industry. New artists should respect those who paved the way for them, while established artists should allow new talent to flourish and collaborate if it makes sense. I respect every artist in the industry for their journey.
I would love to collaborate with 50 Cent, G-Unit, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne, Lil Kim, Birdman, French Montana, Chris Brown, and Jackie-O Madame of Miami, among others.
